Thunkable for iOS

Thunkable for Android is a commercialised version of MIT App Inventor, with improved visual design and some additional features. It was created to address the needs of App Inventor users building apps for business use, while leaving App Inventor focused on the education sector. Projects created with App Inventor can be imported into Thunkable for Android, and while there are some differences, the components and code blocks will be familiar to MIT App Inventor users.

Thunkable for iOS is a new product that allows iOS apps to be built and deployed to iPhones or iPads, using a similar drag-and-drop method for design and coding. The user interface is different to the Android version, and the code blocks are grouped differently, but the overall approach is the same and students who are interested in building iOS apps will have no problem switching from App Inventor to Thunkable for iOS. There are fewer components and code blocks available than in the Android version, but expect more to be added as time goes on.

At present Thunkable is free to use, but in future certain features may be offered on a freemium basis.
